Josh White, the FFA advisor of Madison County High School (MCHS) and students Amber Wilbanks and Travis Tankersly recognized the office as a key supporter for their chapter and placed a sign in front of the building to acknowledge their contribution to the Madison County FFA.

The students and advisor expressed their gratitude for providing sponsorships and various resources which enabled them to compete at local and state competitions. “Jackson EMC’s dedication to our FFA students has provided numerous opportunities for them to reach their full potential. Particularly the support we’ve received for the local, area and state wiring contests and the Quality Beef Show. Both programs are first class and something our kids look forward to each year,” said White.

Local FFA chapters, including Madison County, also prepare the chicken dinners that are served at the co-op’s annual meetings, a longstanding fundraiser for the clubs.

The co-op’s involvement in the FFA stems from its deep roots in rural northeast Georgia, where it was founded to bring electricity to area farms. FFA guides agricultural students to discover and fulfill their passions in lifework through their education, careers and personal future, with emphasis on leadership and teamwork, which mirrors Jackson EMC’s ongoing commitment to youth development.
